Extreme Heat Dome Sweeps Across US, Millions Under Warning | JQJO

An extreme heat dome, caused by a bulge in the jet stream, will bring triple-digit temperatures to much of the US this week. Nearly 85 million Americans are already under heat warnings. Cities like Dallas and Kansas City will see heat indices exceeding 100°F, worsening existing droughts. The heat wave, expected to last until the end of July in some areas, will then move westward. While the South endures intense heat, the Northeast will experience a delayed but significant temperature increase in the coming weeks, reaching near 100°F in cities like New York and Philadelphia. Severe thunderstorms are also predicted.
