Following weeklong clashes between Druze and Bedouin clans in Syria's Sweida city, a U.S.-brokered ceasefire led to the Bedouin withdrawal. Hundreds died in the conflict, fueled by tit-for-tat kidnappings and sectarian attacks. Humanitarian aid is entering Sweida, but tensions remain high. The clashes, which also involved Israeli airstrikes targeting Syrian government forces, have displaced over 128,000 people and jeopardized Syria's fragile post-war transition. The U.S. envoy urged all parties to lay down arms and pursue peace.
