FDA Appoints Biotech Executive as Top Drug Regulator Under RFK Jr.

The FDA announced that George Tidmarsh, a former biotech executive and Stanford adjunct professor, will lead the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER). CDER, FDA's largest division with 5,700 employees, reviews most new drug applications. Tidmarsh replaces acting director Jacqueline Corrigan-Curay, who recently departed. This appointment is significant given CDER's crucial role in drug approval processes.
