Men the Trump administration had sent to an El Salvador mega-prison are exchanged in a prisoner swap

Over 200 Venezuelan immigrants deported to El Salvador's CECOT prison under the Alien Enemies Act have been returned to Venezuela in a prisoner exchange. The swap, orchestrated with El Salvador's President Bukele, secured the release of 10 American hostages held in Venezuela. The U.S. Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, confirmed the release of the Americans. The ACLU criticized the process, citing a lack of due process and the illegal use of the Alien Enemies Act during peacetime.
