In a historic gathering, 12 countries announce Israel sanctions and renewed legal action to end Gaza genocide

An emergency conference in Bogotá, convened by Colombia and South Africa, saw 30 nations, including China and Brazil, agree to combat Israel's actions in Palestine, described as genocide. Twelve countries committed to concrete actions, including arms embargoes and preventing support for Israel's occupation. The conference, supported by UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese, aims to end the ongoing violence and human rights abuses that have resulted in over 60,000 deaths, mostly women and children. The actions are framed as upholding international law, not as retaliation.
