A historic Grand Canyon Lodge on the North Rim, known for its rustic charm and remote location, was destroyed by a wildfire over the July 4th weekend. The nearly century-old lodge, designed by Gilbert Stanley Underwood, offered a unique experience for hikers and tourists, attracting visitors from around the world. Its destruction is a significant loss for the park and its many visitors who cherished its history and ambiance. While the lodge has been destroyed before, there is optimism it will be rebuilt.
