EU warns of countermeasures after Trump threatens 30 percent tariffs

The European Union strongly condemned US President Trump's threat to impose 30% tariffs on EU imports, calling it "absolutely unacceptable." EU ministers met in Brussels and vowed to implement countermeasures, including targeting $24.5 billion worth of US goods, if the tariffs are enacted. While the EU seeks a negotiated solution, it's preparing for all outcomes. The threat has caused alarm among European businesses and led to stock market declines, particularly in the automotive and alcohol sectors. Trump, while expressing willingness to negotiate, continues to threaten tariffs against several countries.
