JPMorgan Chase Tops Q2 Estimates Despite Revenue Dip

JPMorgan Chase exceeded second-quarter expectations, reporting earnings of $5.24 per share against an estimate of $4.48, and revenue of $45.68 billion versus a projected $44.06 billion. While overall earnings fell 17% year-over-year to $14.9 billion due to a prior year's gain on Visa shares, the bank topped estimates even after adjusting for a tax benefit. CEO Jamie Dimon highlighted strong performance across divisions, a dividend increase, and a $7 billion share repurchase. Dimon noted economic resilience but cautioned about risks from trade, geopolitical issues, and high asset prices.
