RSF storms cattle market and prison in 'death trap' city

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) fighters stormed the Sudanese city of el-Fasher, seizing a cattle market, prison, and military base during a seven-hour battle. The army later repelled the RSF, but residents described the city as a 'death trap' facing starvation and shelling. This marks the RSF's 220th offensive on el-Fasher since the 15-month-long siege began. The conflict has caused a major humanitarian crisis, with over 150,000 deaths and 12 million displaced. The RSF's actions, including the use of drones, have led to civilian casualties and widespread suffering, exacerbated by a communications blackout hindering aid efforts.
