The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends including lenacapavir, a new twice-yearly HIV prevention injection, in national HIV programs, particularly for high-risk groups. This follows the FDA's approval. WHO also recommends using rapid HIV tests alongside long-acting medication. Concerns exist about dwindling global HIV funding, particularly after US funding cuts, potentially leading to millions of additional HIV-related deaths and infections by 2029.
