A wildfire, the Dragon Bravo Fire, has ravaged the Grand Canyon's North Rim, destroying the historic Grand Canyon Lodge and up to 80 other structures. The blaze, fueled by 40mph winds, forced evacuations and led to the North Rim's closure for the 2025 tourist season. Aramark, the lodge's operator, confirmed all staff and guests were safely evacuated. A second fire, the White Sage Fire, burned over 40,000 acres in the Kaibab National Forest. Both fires, believed to be lightning-caused, resulted in no reported injuries despite a chlorine leak complicating firefighting efforts.
