Archaeologists at Magna Roman Fort in northern England unearthed eight unusually large Roman shoes, one measuring 32.6 cm. This discovery, part of a larger excavation yielding 32 preserved shoes, provides insights into the diverse population along Hadrian's Wall. The shoes' size, significantly larger than those previously found at Vindolanda, suggests potential cultural or physical differences among Roman soldiers. However, climate change threatens the preservation of such vital archaeological data.
