Hungarian library is fighting to save books from beetles : NPR

Hungary's 1,000-year-old Pannonhalma Archabbey, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is battling a beetle infestation threatening its 400,000-volume library. Around 100,000 books are undergoing an oxygen-free treatment to eliminate the drugstore beetles. The infestation, possibly worsened by climate change, is impacting a quarter of the collection, including centuries-old manuscripts and a 13th-century Bible. The abbey, adhering to its centuries-old monastic rule, is committed to preserving its invaluable historical and cultural heritage.
