A beetle infestation threatens to destroy tens of thousands of centuries-old books at the 1,000-year-old Pannonhalma Archabbey in Hungary, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Restoration workers are removing approximately 100,000 books for disinfection to combat the drugstore beetles damaging the books' adhesives. This is the abbey's largest-ever insect infestation, requiring treatment of the entire collection.
