At least 23 civilians, including four children, were killed in an airstrike on a Buddhist monastery in Myanmar's Sagaing region. The overnight attack injured around 30 more, with 10 in critical condition. Over 150 people were sheltering in the monastery from ongoing conflict. The military has not commented, but has previously stated it only targets legitimate military objectives. The attack follows a recent military offensive in the area and is seen as an attempt to suppress resistance ahead of planned elections.
