Russia launched a third consecutive night of widespread drone and missile attacks on western Ukraine, targeting Lviv, Chernivtsi, and Lutsk. The attacks resulted in at least two deaths and numerous injuries. Residential buildings, infrastructure, and businesses were damaged. Ukraine's air defenses intercepted many of the projectiles, while Poland scrambled fighter jets. Zelenskyy called for increased sanctions and air defense systems, noting the escalation of Russian attacks and the need for more interceptor drones. The attacks come days after Russia's largest drone assault on July 9th.
