German backpacker Carolina Wilga, missing for 12 days in Australia's Outback, was found alive on Friday. Discovered wandering on a forest trail, she was in a fragile state but unharmed. Her abandoned van was spotted a day earlier in the Karroun Hill Nature Reserve. Police believe her vehicle became stuck in mud. Wilga was treated at a Perth hospital; authorities stated she was not a victim of crime and her survival in the harsh environment is considered remarkable.
