The Oklahoma City Thunder are reportedly close to finalizing a contract extension with star wing Jalen Williams. Following extensions for Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Chet Holmgren, negotiations with Williams are progressing positively, with both sides aligned. Williams, eligible for a rookie scale extension, could earn a maximum salary of 25% of the 2026-27 cap, potentially rising to 30% with Rose Rule incentives based on future All-NBA selections. His impressive 2023-24 season, including All-NBA Third Team honors, despite a significant wrist injury, fueled the extension talks.
