Running of the bulls through the streets of Pamplona: Dramatic images from the controversial tradition

Pamplona, Spain's controversial San Fermín Festival, featuring the Running of the Bulls, commenced on July 7th. Millions witness hundreds of runners chased by six bulls through narrow streets for roughly three and a half minutes daily. While the tradition dates back to the 16th century and is famed through Hemingway's writing, it's not without risk; injuries are common, with 16 deaths recorded since 1924. This year, several injuries were reported, including one goring. Despite the danger and animal rights concerns, the event continues to attract participants worldwide.
