Trump administration deports 8 migrants to South Sudan

The Supreme Court ruled 7-2 that the Trump administration could deport eight migrants with criminal convictions to South Sudan, despite a lower court order halting their deportation to Djibouti. The migrants, who claimed fear of torture or death in South Sudan, were initially held at a U.S. military base in Djibouti under challenging conditions. The Supreme Court's decision overturned a lower court ruling, allowing the deportations to proceed. Critics called the deportations "punitive and unconstitutional", citing the State Department's travel warning for South Sudan.
