A federal judge temporarily blocked the deportation of eight immigrants to war-torn South Sudan. Judge Randolph Moss, citing new claims from the immigrants' lawyers, transferred the case to Judge Brian Murphy, who previously halted similar deportations. The Supreme Court had recently allowed the deportations to proceed, but the immigrants' lawyers filed an emergency request. The temporary halt allows for further legal proceedings before the immigrants, who are not from South Sudan, are potentially deported from Djibouti.
