Jobs report June 2025:

June's job growth exceeded expectations at 147,000, defying predictions of a slowdown. The unemployment rate dropped to 4.1%, its lowest point since February. However, this decrease stemmed partly from a shrinking labor force participation rate, hitting 62.3%, a low since late 2022. Average hourly earnings rose modestly, suggesting limited inflationary wage pressure. The robust report likely eliminates the possibility of a July interest rate cut, according to analysts, leading to positive stock market reaction and rising Treasury yields.
