Nineteen-year-old American pilot Ethan Guo, attempting a solo flight across all seven continents to raise money for cancer research, was detained in Antarctica by Chilean authorities. He allegedly violated flight regulations by altering his flight plan without permission and landing in Chilean-claimed Antarctic territory. Prosecutors say he endangered air traffic safety by providing false flight information. Guo's lawyer claims he experienced in-flight complications and was conducting an exploratory flight. A 90-day investigation is underway, and Guo remains detained in Chile.
