There is no safe amount of processed meat to eat, according to new research

A new study published in Nature Medicine reveals a strong link between consuming processed meat, sugar-sweetened beverages, and trans fatty acids, even in small amounts, and an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and colorectal cancer. Researchers analyzed data from over 60 studies, finding that as little as one hot dog daily increased disease risk. Experts emphasize the importance of minimizing consumption of these items for better health, although observational data cannot definitively prove causation. The study suggests a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains is key.
