EU Climate Target Faces Delays Amidst Official Doubts | JQJO

EU officials expressed significant reservations during a Monday meeting regarding the Commission's proposed 2040 climate neutrality target. The Commission has already made concessions, including allowing for offsetting pollution cuts through investment in developing nations, to mitigate potential political backlash. French President Macron suggested delaying the proposal. A final decision is expected Wednesday after a meeting of the commissioners.
