The Old Guard 2: Cliffhanger Sequel Leaves Fans Hanging | JQJO

Netflix's The Old Guard 2, a sequel to the acclaimed action film, acts more as a cliffhanger than a standalone movie. While boasting the return of the original cast and writer, the sequel, directed by Victoria Mahoney, adopts a simpler approach compared to the first film's nuanced exploration of existential themes and character development. The film's delayed release and the uncertainty surrounding a third installment leave the narrative feeling unfinished, diminishing the overall impact. The lack of a confirmed third movie makes the open ending feel less satisfying.
