Turkish police detained at least four cartoonists for a satirical cartoon published in LeMan magazine, depicting what some perceive as the Prophet Mohammed and Moses. The cartoon, which went viral, sparked protests in Istanbul with demonstrators calling for sharia law. Authorities condemned the cartoon as a provocation, while LeMan claims it didn't depict the Prophet and apologized for any offense. An investigation is underway under Article 216 of the Turkish Penal Code for insulting religious values. Further protests are planned.
