A fireball streaked across the southeastern US on June 26th, 2025, with over 140 reports to the American Meteor Society from six states. Dashcam and home security footage captured the event. In Georgia, a sonic boom, possibly from the meteor, caused damage to a home. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) confirmed bright flashes of light around the same time via its lightning flash tracker and satellite imagery.
