Resident Evil: Requiem (RE9), starring newcomer Grace Ashcroft, eschews series veteran Leon S. Kennedy as the protagonist. Capcom explained that Leon's established heroism clashes with the horror genre, unlike the more vulnerable Grace. While Leon's absence is surprising given his popularity, Capcom hints he may still have a role in the game. Requiem, set for release next February, aims for a more intense horror experience than previous entries featuring Leon.
