China, U.S. confirm details of their trade deal, Beijing says

The US and China have agreed on a trade framework to ease tech restrictions and allow more rare earth exports. China will review export applications, while the US will lift some restrictions. This follows a London agreement implementing the Geneva consensus, which aimed to stabilize trade relations after accusations of violations. While encouraging, experts caution about the specifics of rare earth export relaxations, noting their importance to national security for both countries. The agreement builds upon a May Geneva deal to suspend tariffs and roll back restraints, which had previously faltered.
