Air India Crash: Black Box Data Recovered

Indian authorities have recovered data from the two black boxes of the Air India flight AI171 that crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12th, killing 221 people. The cockpit voice recorder (CVR) and flight data recorder (FDR) data are being analyzed to determine the cause of the crash. Several theories are under investigation, including engine failure, wing flap malfunction, fuel contamination, and bird strike, though none are confirmed. The black boxes, despite their name, are bright orange and designed to withstand crashes, emitting an ultrasonic signal to aid recovery.
