Celtics Make Strategic Trades After Tatum Injury | JQJO

Facing a bloated payroll and Jayson Tatum's Achilles injury, the Boston Celtics made strategic trades. Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis were dealt to the Portland Trail Blazers and Atlanta Hawks respectively, bringing in Anfernee Simons, Georges Niang, and second-round picks. These moves significantly reduced salary, positioning the Celtics under the luxury tax threshold while adding young talent. Although a step back, the team retains key players and assets, aiming for a return to contention once Tatum recovers.
