The Morning Midas, a cargo ship carrying nearly 3,000 vehicles to Mexico, sank in the North Pacific after a fire weeks ago. The 22 crew members were rescued safely. The fire, exacerbated by bad weather, caused significant damage leading to the ship's sinking in waters 16,404 feet deep. While there's no visible pollution currently, salvage crews and pollution response vessels are monitoring the situation. The ship, built in 2006, was carrying about 70 electric and 680 hybrid vehicles.
