The Liberian-flagged cargo ship Morning Midas sank about 450 miles southwest of Adak, Alaska, after a fire on June 3rd and subsequent heavy weather. Carrying 3,048 vehicles and fuel, the ship's 22 crew members were safely evacuated. While there's no visible pollution yet, the US Coast Guard and salvage vessels are monitoring the situation for potential environmental impact.
