Iran, a potent cyberthreat, may respond with infiltration and hacking America’s critical infrastructure

US hospitals, power plants, and water systems are on high alert for potential Iranian cyberattacks following US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. While no confirmed breaches have occurred, the US government and private sector are monitoring Iranian cyber activity, including scanning for vulnerabilities and online chatter about retaliatory actions. Although Iran's cyber capabilities are less advanced than Russia or China, their unpredictability and past attacks on US infrastructure necessitate heightened vigilance. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is coordinating with partners to share intelligence and strengthen defenses, emphasizing that there are currently no specific credible threats.
