Baby delivered from brain-dead woman on life support in Georgia

Adriana Smith, 31, was declared brain dead in February after suffering from blood clots. Six months pregnant, she remained on life support until her baby, Chance, was delivered prematurely via emergency C-section on Friday. Weighing 1 pound 13 ounces, Chance is currently in the NICU. Smith's mother, April Newkirk, stated that Smith will be taken off life support on Tuesday. Georgia's Attorney General clarified that state law doesn't mandate keeping brain-dead individuals on life support. Chance's survival is uncertain, but family and advocates are hopeful.
