More than 20 Palestinians killed by Israeli fire near Gaza aid sites, Hamas-run ministry says

At least 22 Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire near US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) aid distribution sites, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. The incident occurred at al-Alam in Rafah, with reports of further deaths at another GHF site. The UN's human rights chief condemned Israel's actions, accusing them of weaponizing food. A doctor described the aid distribution as a complete failure, while a witness called it a "trap." The IDF is investigating, but independent verification is difficult due to restrictions on access to Gaza. Hundreds have died near these sites since the GHF began operations in May.
