At Home retail chain files for bankruptcy as part of restructuring effort

Home decor retailer At Home, with over 200 US locations, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Monday. The restructuring aims to eliminate $2 billion in debt and secure $200 million in capital. The company, owned by Hellman & Friedman, cited rising tariffs and a slowdown in consumer demand for home furnishings as contributing factors. While most stores will remain open, the bankruptcy follows similar filings by other large retailers, highlighting broader economic challenges in the sector.
