Shares of meatpacking giant JBS fall in debut on the NYSE

JBS, a Brazilian meat giant, saw its shares fall 3.9% on their New York Stock Exchange debut despite a long-held goal of trading in the US market. The dual listing, approved by minority shareholders despite opposition from environmental groups and lawmakers citing corruption and environmental concerns, aims to broaden investor access and lower interest rates. However, concerns remain regarding the Batista brothers' return to the board and the dual share class structure granting them increased voting power. The SEC approved the listing last month.
