Israeli forces have recovered the bodies of two Israeli hostages in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced. One of the hostages was identified as 59-year-old Yair Yaakov, killed on October 7th. The other's name was withheld, but his family has been informed. This brings the number of hostages still held by Hamas to 53, at least 20 of whom are believed to be alive. The recovery follows the recent retrieval of other hostages' bodies, including a Thai national and an Israeli-American couple. Netanyahu expressed condolences and thanked the security forces, while a Hamas official rejected his statements on progress in negotiations for the remaining hostages.
