Increased screen time linked to aggression, anxiety, low self-esteem in kids, study finds

A large international study involving nearly 300,000 children reveals a strong correlation between excessive screen time and socioemotional problems. Children spending more time on devices, especially gaming consoles, showed increased risks of aggression, anxiety, and low self-esteem. Conversely, children with pre-existing emotional challenges spent more time on screens. While the study doesn't advocate for eliminating screens entirely, it emphasizes moderation, balanced activities, and prioritizing sleep and physical activity. Excessive screen time, particularly exceeding recommended limits, is linked to increased socioemotional difficulties.
