Israel has recovered the body of Nattapong Pinta, a 35-year-old Thai hostage killed during the October 7th Hamas attack in Gaza. Pinta was one of 31 Thai hostages; two others remain unaccounted for. Approximately 46 Thai citizens perished during the conflict. Before the war, around 30,000 Thai workers, primarily agricultural laborers, resided in Israel, drawn by significantly higher wages than those available in Thailand. Despite criticism of working conditions, the number of Thai workers in Israel has recently increased to over 38,000.
