S&P 500 hits highest level since February after cooling trade tensions, better-than-expected jobs data

Wall Street rallied this week on hopes of a less aggressive stance from President Trump on the trade war with China. Following a phone call between Trump and Xi Jinping, US and Chinese trade representatives are scheduled to meet Monday. The Dow closed up 443 points Friday, boosted by better-than-expected jobs data and a Tesla rebound. Despite some lingering uncertainty, investors are anticipating a resolution to trade tensions. Bond yields rose as expectations for Fed rate cuts decreased due to the strong jobs report. The market is now focused on the upcoming US-China trade talks.
