Reddit sues Anthropic for allegedly not paying for training data

Reddit is suing Anthropic, an AI startup, for allegedly using Reddit's data to train its AI models without permission. The lawsuit claims Anthropic violated Reddit's user agreement and ignored requests to stop scraping data. This makes Reddit the first major tech company to sue an AI model provider over data usage. While Reddit has licensing agreements with other AI companies like OpenAI and Google, it alleges Anthropic refused to negotiate. Anthropic denies Reddit's claims and plans to defend itself. Reddit seeks damages and an injunction to prevent further unauthorized use of its data.
