Malia Obama uses middle name for film credit | JQJO

Malia Obama, daughter of former President Barack Obama, used her middle name, Ann, instead of her last name for the credits of her short film, "The Heart," which premiered at Sundance. Her mother, Michelle Obama, supports Malia's decision, explaining that both daughters strive for independence and want to be recognized for their own merits, not their family name. Michelle emphasized their desire to prove their abilities and avoid assumptions based on their lineage. Barack Obama also shared a similar perspective on Malia's choice, highlighting her wish for viewers to judge her work without the influence of her famous last name.
