Tensions escalated as China accused the U.S. of violating a trade agreement, while the EU criticized proposed U.S. steel tariff hikes. Despite the negative data, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 1.13%, and Australia's S&P/ASX 200 advanced 0.48%. Japan's Nikkei 225 traded flat, while India's markets saw slight declines. South Korean markets were closed.
