ISIS claims first attacks against forces loyal to new government in Syria

ISIS claimed responsibility for two attacks on Syrian security forces in Suwayda province, targeting a Free Syrian Army reconnaissance unit and detonating an explosive device. One FSA fighter was killed and four others injured. The attacks occurred in the remote Talul al Safa desert area, a known ISIS stronghold. This marks ISIS's first claimed attacks since the Syrian transitional government took office. The US has urged the new government to prevent an ISIS resurgence, but the region remains volatile.
