Anderson's New Film Exposes Wealth's Hollowness | JQJO

Wes Anderson's 'The Phoenician Scheme' follows obscenely wealthy businessman Anatole "Zsa-zsa" Korda (Benicio Del Toro) as he attempts a massive infrastructure project, seeking reconciliation with his estranged daughter Liesl (Mia Threapleton). The film, set in the 1950s, explores themes of wealth, family, and morality, featuring Anderson's signature visual style but with a darker, more critical tone towards the whims of tycoons. The all-star cast includes Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, and many more. While visually stunning, the film offers a complex and potentially cynical view of the possibility of redemption for the ultra-rich.
