Taylor Swift buys back the rights to her master recordings

Taylor Swift has triumphantly bought back the master recordings of her first six albums, ending a years-long dispute. The acquisition concludes a saga that began in 2019 when her former label, Big Machine, was sold, transferring ownership of her music to Scooter Braun. Swift had publicly criticized Braun's actions and subsequently re-recorded her albums to regain control. This purchase signifies Swift's complete ownership of her early musical work and allows for future licensing and distribution decisions to be solely in her hands. While she has yet to complete re-recording her album "Reputation", she confirmed plans to release vault tracks from it at a later date.
