Mondelez International, maker of Chips Ahoy and Oreos, is suing Aldi for allegedly copying the packaging of its popular cookie and cracker brands. The lawsuit, filed in Illinois, claims Aldi's packaging is confusingly similar and harms Mondelez's brands. Mondelez seeks monetary damages and a cease-and-desist order. Aldi, a rapidly growing grocery chain, has faced similar lawsuits in the past regarding packaging design in Australia and the UK. Aldi has yet to comment on the latest lawsuit.
